Minister of National Security, Hon. Peter Bunting, has commended the immigration officials at the Sangster International Airport for the recent placement in the Airport Service Quality report 2012.
The Montego Bay based airport ranked first in the Latin American region in terms of ‘Waiting Time’, and third based on the ‘courtesy and helpfulness’ of passport inspection staff for the quarter ending December 2012.
In congratulating the PICA team for its world class showing, Minister Bunting remarked, “It’s great when we have an independent evidence-based assessment of our performance that shows us excelling. The excellent result is testimony to the consistent hard work and training of the PICA team”.
The rankings come from the Airports Council International (ACI), the representative industry body of the world's airports. ACI is a nonprofit organization whose membership comprises 580 airports and airport authorities operating 1,650 airports across 179 countries and territories.
The Airport Service Quality report provides concise, actionable insight into an airport’s services and facilities, assisting managers to create a culture of systematic performance improvement in the organisations in which they operate.
