Government officials and audit professionals will be equipped with worthwhile information to increase their knowledge base in corporate governance at the inaugural staging of The Business Conference hosted by The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Jamaica Chapter on May 20, 2015 at the Jamaica Conference Centre.
The conference will start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.
The theme, "Corporate Governance: Are We Making Progress?", will address a sore point in the court of public opinion surrounding the mismanagement and accountability of public sectors boards throughout the nation's history.
Keynote speaker, Auditor General of Jamaica, Pamela Munroe-Ellis will deliver what promises to be a riveting presentation on corporate governance as a topic of national importance.
Other distinguished speakers will also add credence to discussions and provide valuable insights and possible solutions to improve corporate governance in Jamaica.
The presenters along with the President of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Jamaica Chapter, David Hall will join in a panel discussion aimed at answering questions from the participants.
Hall implores individuals to attend, "Participants will hear from the experts in the field who are also practitioners in the public and private sectors as it relates to various aspects of Corporate Governance. They will leave with the facts pertaining to the subject matter which will help in shaping their own opinion on the subject”
