Minister Peter Bunting, MP is participating in a Citizen Security Conference in Quito, Ecuador for Monday and Tuesday of this week, and returns to Jamaica on Wednesday, October 21, 2014.
The conference is organised and sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and discussions are focused on using data to inform the design of violence prevention policies and initiatives. The Citizen Security and Justice Programme (CSJP III) is one example of such initiatives. The forum will also foster the sharing of innovations in Citizen Security in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Head of CSJP, Mr. Simeon Robinson and Mr. Courtney Brown, Senior Director of Crime Prevention and Community Safety at the Ministry of National Security are accompanying the Minister.
