FLOW Study Partner Ricardo Allen selected for Whitehouse YLAI Fellowship

Ricardo Allen, the young CEO of One on One Educational Services Ltd. and FLOWStudy partner has been selected to participate in the 2016 Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) pilot project which was announced by US President Barrack Obama on his visit to Jamaica last year.

Allen is now in the United States for a three week international exchange fellowship which began on February 25 and joins 23 other young professionals from Latin America and the Caribbean in a comprehensive programme aimed at sharpening entrepreneurial skills and enhancing economic opportunities.

Participants will also benefit from three days of professional programming in Washington, DC, which will include resource meetings with American institutions like Google and Yahoo specializing in their area of expertise.

One on One recently signed a regional 5-year partnership with FLOW through its parent company CWC aimed at offering students greater access to a wide variety of study materials for GSAT, CSEC and CAPE examinations development via mobile, TV and broadband throughout the entire Caribbean region. Through the agreement, the company will provide a variety of educational materials including video tutorials for full online courses, video lectures, and past paper solutions, as well as other examination preparation materials such as notes, question and solutions banks.

Proud of his selection, Allen said “I am extremely delighted to have been selected as Jamaica’s first recipient of the Youth Leaders of the Americas (YLAI) Fellowship. Dedication has certainly won. Allen also made special mention partners, Cable & Wireless Communications (Flow)  and The Development Bank of Jamaica(DBJ) who he said have both played a key role in the continued expansion of One on One Educational Services.
