The event is being organised by the Embassy of Spain, as part of the celebratory activities commemorating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Spain and Jamaica while also observing ten years since the establishment of The Spanish-Jamaican Foundation.
As Carmen Rives Ruiz-Tapiador, Chargée d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Spain explains “……culture is a strong bond between Jamaica and Spain and we consistently try to bring elements of both countries’ culture together to unite the people and to help in understanding each other.”
The four women of Las Migas – Marta Robles and Alicia Grillo (guitarists), Alba Carmona (vocalist/dancer), Roser Loscos (violinist/vocalist) - will captivate the Jamaican audience with their unique blend of flamenco and Meditaerranean styles comprising classic and contemporary rhythms, and melodies that range from powerful to passionate to playful.
A second performance will be held at the Montego Bay Cultural Centre in Montego Bay on Saturday, November 5 at 7:30p.m.
The two performances, free of cost and open to the public, have been made possible with the kind sponsorship of the Spanish Jamaican Foundation, Humiclima, LASCO Affiliated Companies, Round Hill Hotel and Villas, Spanish Court Hotel and Montego Bay Cultural Centre.
