The league got off to an exciting start on Friday, November 11 with the defending champions Block Aye of Chancellor Hall being denied a title defense, falling 2-1 to Siberia of Irvine Hall. It was sweet revenge for the Siberia team who were the 2014 champions, but failed to pass the first round in 2015 when Block Aye knocked them from the tournament and went on to secure their first lien on the title. In the late kick off Roosters of Taylor clipped Towers Hybrid 1-0 to secure their berth in the Quarter-Finals.
The competition continued on Saturday, November 12 with a flurry of goals which saw big wins for the Veterans of Irvine who booked their place in the next round with a 4-0 victory over newcomers Elsa Leo-Rhynie Hall (ELRH). The feature match doubled that tally, as Block Che of Chancellor was in business when they thumped the Commuters team in an 8-0 route. On Sunday, Dynamite of Chancellor Hall was in good form with a 3-0 victory over the Rebels while Dragons came out 4-0 winners over the Sharpites.
The action is set to continue in the Sagicor Bank/UWI Guild Champions League Knockout-Football Tournament on Friday, November 18 when two time champions Attica, face off against ABC Hall and AZ Preston Hall will play title contending Stallion Republic of Taylor Hall.
The Quarter-finals is set to kick off on Saturday, November 19, with the Semi-final round set to be played on Friday, November 25 and the Finals a week later on December 2.
