As associate sponsors, the youth focused brand, believes this partnership to be a perfect match.

“Dancin’ Dynamites is a value-added dance competition, which offers a creative vehicle for the talents of Jamaican teens and young adults to highlight and celebrate our nation’s rich dance culture,” declared LASCO iCool Brand Manager, Lyshon Davis.

iCool will be offering a weekly prize to show’s loyal fans and a unique opportunity for them to win a summer school dance scholarship through the brand’s social media platforms. There will be other prize opportunities along the audition tour.

“LASCO iCool is glad to be on board and to share in the energy of the Dancin’ Dynamites. We hope that while bringing greater attention and appreciation of our local talent, watchers and voters will try any of our seven great flavours,” stated Davis.

The Dancin’ Dynamites competition, which started in 2006, spans a three and half month period with four auditions, four eliminations/stage shows, six road shows and 10 studio shows. In the end, 12 dance groups are selected from the island-wide search and weekly dancers present their routines on television for viewer’s votes.

The show also aims to widen Jamaica’s appreciation of different cultures and genres of dance. As such, each week, the dancers are expected to create routines for television from across chosen dance and cultural genres.

Edna Manley School of Dance and Excelsior Community College also provide specialist support for dancers who may find the given genre difficult to execute.

Season 12 of Dancin’ Dynamites took centre stage on Saturday, January 7 at Limelight in Half-Way-Tree with special guest performances by VoiceMail, Zagga and Alicia Taylor at the media launch.
