The Ministry of National Security in collaboration with Rondell Positive Music and the Peace Management Initiative (PMI) yesterday (May 10) conducted a Men’s Reasoning session at the Wembley Centre of Excellence in Clarendon.
The session was hosted specially for men from the parish and was geared towards encouraging them to consider their options and choose a better path for a more rewarding and purposeful life. The session also sought to help the men identify avenues of empowerment.
The reasoning session which was held under the theme, Plug into Purpose, Pursue True Power, forms part of the I am Purpose campaign recently launched by the Ministry in the parish.
Participants welcomed the initiative. "I am happy for today. I am happy to know we are not forgotten. I now believe I can be a change. I now see myself making an impact in society,” noted Kemar Stone, one of the participants.
The break-out segments which looked at encouraging participants to find their purpose, discover hidden talents, and identify the pathway to change was hosted by Ian ‘Ity’ Ellis and had featured sections conducted by Jamar Wright, Greg ‘Dunamis Reignz’ Grant, Courtney McLean and Rondell ‘Positive’ Allen. The sessions were followed by a luncheon and mini concert.
This initiative is a part of the Ministry of National Security’s Five Pillar Crime Reduction Strategy with emphasis on Crime Prevention through Social Development.
