Breakthrough Communications | 2019-11-07 14:39:00

“South Florida is considered the fastest-growing region of Jamaicans compared to any in the Diaspora. Ongoing efforts are being made to identify expanded marketing areas for the imports of agricultural goods and manufactured food meeting the culinary appetite of the growing Diaspora community as well as that of foreigners.” said Mair.

The collaborative effort between the Consulate General of Jamaica and Salada Foods is aimed at showcasing Jamaican goods and services to facilitate the movement of Jamaican products in the Jamaican diaspora. Salada Foods will be joining companies like Grace Foods, Victoria Mutual Building Society, JN Bank, the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), DIGICEL, and others who have worked with the Consulate in the same capacity.

“We are delighted to partner with the Jamaican Consulate to engage the over 500,000 nationals residing in Florida. Salada Foods, through its Jamaica Mountain Peak brand, has been brewing a great appreciation for coffee since 1973 and we are happy to filter this passion and product through such a unique channel. Now more than ever Salada Foods believes in its ability and readiness to engage a global audience and we are pleased with this collaboration with the Consulate,” stated Tamii Brown, commercial and corporate affairs manager at Salada Foods Jamaica.

Since the launch of Jamaica Mountain Peak (JMP) instant coffee, Salada Foods has successfully extended the JMP line with the introduction of Instant Ginger Tea in 2012 and the Roasted line in two varieties, Roasted and Ground and Roasted Whole Beans in 2018. Salada Foods also engaged emergent coffee drinkers, such as young professionals, with the launch of a new product line in 2018; the Mountain Bliss 876 in Classic and Gold.

The Office of the Consulate General of Jamaica is located in downtown Miami with core responsibilities of processing passport applications for minor and adult Jamaica citizens; processing of visas and other relevant documents to foreigners visiting Jamaica; processing applications for Jamaican citizenship, and promoting trade and commerce interests between Jamaica and the USA among other duties.
